Kinkaid had some disappointing news to break to his staff, though. He called Nurse Janet Sanders over. Life in Sickbay with Janet was very uplifting for Kinkaid; to have such a great right hand co-worker with the professional skills to take charge at a moments notice was a thrill to him. "Yes, Doctor, is there something you needed?" Janet said. Kinkaid 's mind drew a blank on what to say to Janet. Janet had a puzzling look when she spoke. "HELLO!? Is there anyone in there?" At that moment she waved her hands and snapped her fingers trying to get Kinkaid's attention. Janet did not know what else she could do except. She thought for a second and. "SLAP!!!!" Reality started to fade back into picture for Kinkaid. "Ouch!" Kinkaid screamed as he grasped the side of his face. "Doctor, are you alright?" Janet said. She assisted her boss to a biobed for support. Janet thought that was funny when she chuckled from the inside at the notion of what she did. "I don't know who thought that was funny", Janet said looking around at the staff trying to play off the giggles and then turned back to Kinkaid, "but corrective training is in order for those of you who did laugh." "That will not be necessary, Nurse Sanders." Kinkaid ordered. "Janet, I need all the medical staff in Sickbay to stop for the moment their current duties and gather in the biobed area for a brief message from me to pass on." Janet understood and advised all medical personnel to halt their duties for the brief message. Upon the medical staff gathering, Kinkaid relayed the message. "It is my most deepest apologies that Captain Janise Kinkaid will not be arriving anytime soon to the Nimitz." Kinkaid heard gasps among the staff members. "An outbreak Cartalian fever has engulfed over half of the population on Carlaris Nine near the Neutral Zone. So, Captain Kinkaid sends her apologies. Kinkaid paused for the moment and said. "Other than that, I just wanted to extend my deepest thanks for a job well done in getting Sickbay up and ready. Thank you to all of ya'll!" Then the sickbay communication channels activated. =^= Kateb to Dr. Kinkaid. =^= Kinkaid responded. "Kinkaid here. What is the emergency, Ensign?" Kateb responded back. =^= I have something special for you to do. =^= "Something special?" Kinkaid said puzzled. =^= I want you to be on standby for the next order. It should come soon. =^= Kateb replied. Kinkaid called back. "What is the nature of this special request you ask of me to wait on?" Kateb answered the question. =^= Let just say that you will pull a rotten tooth. Kateb out. =^= The comm channels closed. Janet overheard the transmission and look at her boss saying; at the same time shrugging her shoulders, "A rotten tooth?" Kinkaid returned the gesture and said, "I do not know, Janet, but I will find out more." Then Kinkaid exited the biobed area for his office. (Reply, Anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Outside SFI/Petty Officer Hakeswell's Quarters - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid - 1810) Kinkaid felt caution was better instead of reacting in hasty manner to prevent further injury, if the mission went off without a hitch. Kinkaid went over the mission plan again in his head to make sure any or all anticipation were noted. He then turned and looked at his medical team with a heart of a proud father with tears feeling the worst made occur at any moment. Kinkaid wiped his eyes of tears with his left uniform sleeve and refocused to what was happening. ~ Phaser fire! ~ He thought as his adrenaline rush was kicking in. Kinkaid waited for the signal. "Kateb to Kinkaid. you can come in now. I will lower the force field for you to pass." Onyx said as she proceeded to have the force field lowered. Kinkaid signaled to his team, "Let's go team", and they all moved inside the quarters with medical tricorders on and scanning for life signs. Kinkaid was the first of his team to enter. He immediately saw the humanoid body on the floor. After a quick scan, Kinkaid made a diagnosis of Hakeswell and reported to Commander Wilson. "Sir, the sedative is working. Hakeswell is in an unconscious state and stable. There is nothing life threatening at this point." Kinkaid said and then glanced back to Hakeswell's persons. "The patient. Uhh, I mean, prisoner is stable enough to be transported to Sickbay for the tooth extraction procedure." Kinkaid motioned to his medical team for the stretcher to put Hakeswell onto then move him to Sickbay. As the medical team with ease put Hakeswell's persons onto the stretcher, Commander Wilson, sitting in a chair apparently nursing his right hand, said. "Doc Kinkaid, if you want to like chop off a limb feel free." With that remark, Kinkaid staggered to his feet. Commander Wilson continued with a grinning smile. "I shall not hold you responsible." Kinkaid regained his composure and scanned the commander's right hand. "Well, Commander, I think Hakeswell did a little chopping on you or shall I say chomping on your hand, Sir." Kinkaid commented jokingly. Kinkaid opened his med kit. He applied antiseptic spray to the bite marks and then placed a bandage over the wounded hand. "Now, good as new for the time being." Kinkaid said. The scene was starting to get a bit emotional with love. Kinkaid could not help, but stand there with his arms crossed looking on as Commander Wilson and Ensign Kateb were discussing matters of a personal nature in front of the raiding team loudly. Kateb noticing everyone else was eavesdropping on their conversation started to get out instructions to her team. Kinkaid alerted Sickbay on the arriving patient." Kinkaid to Sickbay. Nurse Sanders prepare Sickbay for one high priority patient." Nurse Janet Sanders responded to the call in confusion. =^= A High Priority patient, Sir!? =^= "Yes, I'll explain the rest to you upon my arrival. Kinkaid out." Kinkaid closed communication and his medical team were on there way to Sickbay. (Reply, Anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. In her head, she was preparing her report. Once there, there was Ensign Slytherwald and they started to talk, she quickly we nt to the heart of the subject, taking over security while she was with Hakeswell. "Yes, ma'am, it will be my pleasure to replace you. Ah... if you, ma'am, could tell me your duties, so I can perform them, ma'am?" -Tom stopped, he waited Onyx to explain him his duties. "Yes... there's a few things going on. The next crew shit is starting. They start by a test drill, a little warm up to get them into ready mode. I have setup, here and here, and also on that deck security points. They are blank spots and I don't want them to be blanks as much for the new sensors put there and security settings. I want them finish by today, I don't want to deal with that tomorrow and the guys knows that, so if you see that you don't have a report from them in the next 2 hrs, recall and check. You shift will end with the last security shift coming in... get them to the test drill and you will be able to leave here. Once I have finish with Hakeswell, I will have finish my shift... probably an hour or so and before that I will take a quick bit at the Mess Hall, there for I will be there if anything. Don't be afraid to test, and make diagnostics, if we can solve problems before they become worst, that is far better then the ship failing on us." Tom just stood there listening what are his next duties and he couldn't help himself but notice how she wanted to become Chief of Tactical, and now when he found out his duties, he though maybe sometimes are better to be smaller fish in the sea. ~Wow, I don't know if she even have a time for herself!~ "Well, I should start right away, ma'am!" -Tom smiled - it was the only thing that he could do ~Well, OK, I guess that I'll start with level 4 diagnostics of the weapon's plasma EPS conduits. It's a job for the engineer, but considering he's not available now, I guess the job's on me. It should be easy...~ Tom though as inspecting Tactical console. "Have fun Ensign Slytherwald." "Thank you, ma'am!" -said Tom as finishing his first job. Onyx heard the answer and left the bridge. "Mess Hall!" (Reply from anyone) (Posted by Laurence) Stardate 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Mess Hall - TAC/SC Ensign Kateb - 1900) Onyx continued her report to the captain, by now, Hakeswell should be in the brig, she would let him alone for a while, get him to think. That in mind she could eat in peace and also report to the captain. "Ensign Kateb to Captain Sash. We have succeeded to capture Hakeswell, he draw on us a phaser and we found proof of something else. He went to sickbay to have a poison tooth taken out. He should be in the brig very soon. I'm sending you a report with the events of the operation, it went like a book. I'm going to interrogate him about what he was planing to do to Wilson. The last word he said was that he wanted Commander Wilson dead." (reply from Sash) "I will Sir... Kateb out." Onyx got up, having finish her meal she got up and decided it was time to go see Hakeswell. (Reply from anyone) (Posted by Laurence) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Quarters -FO/CO - Commander Vanyssa Winters & Captain Sash-19:30) Vanyssa lay on the couch, with her Captain running his fingers through her hair, listening to him talk. She lay perfectly still, not wanting him to stop. She knew that he didn't realize that he was doing it, he had managed to keep his distance from her, keeping it on a very friendly level. "I understand that Brikarians are tough to read, telepathically. Maybe that's why you don't trust him. I definitely don't want to be on his bad side." Vanyssa sighed softly. "That isn't it." She said. "He is hard to read, he's like a stone wall. And yeah, that bothers me a little bit... But, why did Wilson bring him aboard? Why would he want to? I guess that the person in all of this that I really don't trust is Wilson. Why would LoDona send him here? Doesn't LoDona trust us?" She said, feeling confused. The couple of times that she had dealings with the great Admiral, he had seemed kind, understanding and a good person all around. "Why make us the Command staff of the NImitz, then send us a watchdog, months later?" Vanyssa stopped talking then, liking the way that Devan's hands felt a little bit too much. She reached up to catch one, bringing the fingers to her mouth and kissing them. She looked up into his eyes and she slowly took one into her mouth and nipped it. She could sense the half-repressed need he had. The sensations Nessa was giving Sash were opening him up to emotions he had left long dormant. He could feel the longing, the desire building up inside him. But it was wrong. This was Nessa. She was but a child, and his FO to boot. Regulations. But she felt so good against him. He leaned in and could smell her hair. He longed to.. NO! He sat back up and began to talk, hoping it would distract both of them. "If I know Robert LoDona, and I do, there is something bigger going on here. I don't believe, can't believe, that he has a trust issue with me. No there's something else." Again his hand absent mindedly dropped. His finger ran along the V of her neck line as he thought. He realized what he had been doing and his had stopped dead. Vanyssa shivered under Devan's hand, a slight gasp coming out of her mouth. She liked the way it felt. A lot. She looked up at him with her too-blue eyes and stared into his. "Don't stop." She said, quietly. "Please don't stop." Sash looked at Nessa. He couldn't believe how beautiful she was. Nor could he believe that he was thinking that. "Nessa what are we dong here?" he asked. Vanyssa looked up at Sash. "I believe that I asked you not to stop, Mr. Sash, Sir." She said as his hand began to stroke her neck again. "That's better." She said, being a bit cheeky. "I believe you were going to tell me how much you cared about me, and I was begging you not to stop again." "But...," he didn't want to say it but he knew he had to, "we shouldn't." He looked into her beautiful eyes. All he wanted to do is take her, right there, right then. "We shouldn't do what?" She asked, leaning up and kissing him, pinning his arms down and infusing him with the pure passion she was feeling. "Go on." She breathed in his ear. "Tell me to stop." Sash could feel her sensuality coursing through his own body, and his body responded. He had no desire to tell her to stop. Suddenly he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. He rolled her over and returned her kiss. His hand moved down her back and began to caress her lower back. His mouth opened and his kiss became more passionate. Suddenly he pulled away. "No, I don't want you to stop, but I can't. Not now." "Why not ?" She grew serious and cut off her projections. It probably felt like someone had drenched him in cold water, or slapped him. "Because I'm not an adult to you? Because you are ashamed of me? Because you are my Captain?" She looked hurt, and a little bit angry too. "Because I'm not good enough ?" Sash moved his body so he wasn't touching Nessa. He wasn't sure he'd be able to stop himself again. "No," Sash replied, confused, by her and by himself. He rubbed his forehead with both of his palms, like he was trying to squeeze something out of his mind. He could see that she wasn't convinced. "And yes. I am not ashamed of you. Nor is it that you're not good enough. If anything, you're too good for me. It's not that I don't consider you a grown up. But it's like finding out that the little girl who lived next door has grown into a beautiful woman. A beautiful, and very sexy woman. It just seems ... I don't know. And then there's Lynda. Even after 40 years, she's still in my mind, and my heart." He put his hands between his thighs and squeezed his thighs together. "I'm sorry Nessa. I want to ... love you, but ... I just ... I'm sorry." She moved away, and got up. "I should go." She said, trying to not let the hurt show. "I'm sorry too. I will try not to repeat this mistake." She moved quickly over to the door, pausing to hear if he said anything. Sash looked up to watch as Nessa walked to the door. The sight of her walking away was as exciting and snesual as he had seen in a while. He wanted to go to her. He wanted to hold her. He wanted to make love to her. He wanted. But he was the captain of this ship and what he wanted was irrelevant. He had responsibilities to think of, it wasn't fair to Nessa. She deserved more. "Nessa wait," Sash called to her. He joined her at the door. "I wish I could explain better. You know how bad I am at this. But you deserve someone who can give you the attention you deserve. Someone who will make you the central focus of their lives. I can't be that man. There will always be someone between us, and her name is Nimitz. It's not fair to you to ask you to be second in anyone's mind." She shook her head as she listened, and refused to engage in a debate. "It sounds an awfully lot like an excuse to me." She said, not looking at him. "I can feel what you feel, how can your words and your feelings be so at odds with one another?" Sash smiled, a sad smile. "How indeed," he said softly. His proximity to Nessa reflared the feeling that had welled up inside him before. He raised his hand to stroke her cheek. "How indeed." Slowly he leaned in, resolving himself to either breaking Nessa's heart, or give in to their desires. There really seemed to be only one choice. His lips touched hers lightly. Then with more fervor. She moaned under his hands, as he pushed her against the wall, finally giving in, but knowing it was wrong to do so. She kissed him back, and sighed, all of her desire forgotten. "I'm sorry." She said, laying her head on his shoulder and hugging him close. "Your words keep echoing in my head, and this isn't right, no matter how much I want it." She realized that she was crying a bit, slow tears leaking from her eyes. It truly was not fair. But nothing up till now had been, and at the rate she was going, nothing would continue to be. His head spun, as he stood back. Truely he knew he would never understand women. He was about to say something when the door chime rang. Sine they were so close the door opened automatically. There stood a man he didn't recognize. His head went from the emmotional turmoil to needing to be captain again. He was getting a headache. "Ensign John Harrison reporting for duty, sir," the stranger said. Vanyssa looked at Devan and tried very hard not to start laughing. The timing was not the best it could have been. She wiped the tears from her eyes and moved back a bit, further into the Quarters. She limped a little bit, realizing that at some point, she had turned her ankle. She sat down on the couch and took off her shoe, massaging her ankle. Sash watched Nessa go over to the couch. The interuption was most appreciated. He had no idea where to go froom here. Then he turned his attention back to the man waiting at the door. He stood back from the door and invited the man in. "Ensign Harrison, welcome aboard." (reply Harrison) (posted by Al Muir and Melinda Martin) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Quarters - Ensign John Harrison -19:31) "Ensign Harrison, welcome aboard." ~Crap!~ he thought. He could tell, simply from the eyes of his commanding officer, that this was another example of his uncanny ability to say or the wrong thing at the wrong time. He went red. He had been on the ship less than twenty minutes, and already he had screwed up twice. The female officer was obviously struggling not to laugh, which did not help his own embarrassment, and went to sit on the couch. The captain invited him in and he stood before the desk. Struggling not to look at the woman, he stood to attention and continued going red. "Sir...I...I apologise for my timing..." (reply Sash) There was a silence, while the colour faded away from his face. "I'm very proud to be here, sir. I look forward to the honor of serving under you. What exactly will my duties be aboard the Nimitz?" (reply Sash) (posted by James Batchelor) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay -SFI- Dru Tagon -19:40) As Tagon and Wilson entered Sickbay, Wilson finished bringing the Brikar up to speed in the situation. Tagon was uncertain as to the wisdom of keeping the information from the Captain, but he was willing to give the Commander the benefit of his own judgement. He just knew that if he were captain, he'd probably be a little irritated. Wilson introduced Tagon to the doctor. Tagon simply nodded and made his way over to the prisoner. "I see you haven't done much to him doctor," Tagon said flatly. He could see that neither the doctor nor Wilson were certain if he were serious or not. (reply Kincaid) Tagon loomed over the man who opened his eyes a the most appropriate of times. It was very disconcerting to open your eyes and see and avalanche less than a meter over your head. His eyes opened wide in shock. "Well hello there," Tagon said cordially. Tagon looked over at Wilson who gestured for him to continue. Obviously he wanted to see how he was going to get any information from this man. Tagon turned his attention back to the prisoner. "i suppose your wondering why you're still in sickbay, and not in the brig." He could see that Hakeswell had, indeed been thinking about that. "Commander Wilson is actually a very humane person. He wanted to be certain that you had all of the medical attention you'd need and as quickly as possible after I'm done." He could see the look of surprise and disbelief. Tagon leaned over the man further and began to whisper. "Do you know much about Brikar's?" Hakeswell shook his head. "Ah! Well, then that explains it then. You see, we have very few sensory receptors on our outer skin. I really have no idea how much pressure that I am putting on your body." To show his point he laind a finger on his chest and released his muscle control. The weight of his had began to drive into Hakeswell's body. he could feel his finger sink in and put pressure on the ribs. "Now you see, I have no idea what is going on with your body. Does that hurt?" A small groan passed through Hakeswell's lips. "I'll tell you another secret," he continued to whisper, "we also have no value for life. So if you died right now, I would just imagine that you've gone on to your next life. If I sent you there, I feel that I'd be doing you a favor." Hakeswell looked at Tagon, trying to messure his veracity. He moved a little back in his bio bed. "You can't do that," he said, not sounding too certain. Tagon looked over at Wilson, who got the idea of what he wanted. He took the doctor by the arm and led him away. He could see Kincaid looking over his shoulder as Wilson asked about some inane project or other. Once they were out of sight he returned his attention to Hakeswell. "Now you know Commander Wilson?" Hakeswell nodded. "And you know what he is capable of?" He nodded again. "But you also know that he has a conscience and could possibly do or condone anything that you might be imagining right now. And you would be correct. That's why he brought me here. I have no conscience. I'm not Starfleet. I really don't care." Hakeswell stirred again in the bed, beginning to feel very uncomfortable. He was not sure where this was leading. Tagon continued. "With that being said, I want you to answer the questions I'm about to ask you truthfully. Now , I can tell when you're lying. Please trust me on this matter, and don't test me. I will know." "What do you want to know?" Hakeswell asked. "It's simple," Tagon said, "tell me who you're working for?" The answer came back immediately, "I work for the UFP, and Captain Sash." Tagon sighed and broke one of Hakeswells ribs. The snap could be heard plainly and clearly. Hakeswell cried out and the pain monitor of the biobed began to beep. Tagon silenced the bed and returned to his questioning. "That didn't sound to good Mr. Hakesewll." Then he moved his hand further south, until it rested right over his crotch. Haleswell's eyes popped to full alert as the pain subsided. "I did ask you not to test me," Tagon commented. "Now let's try again, and please bare in mind where my hand is. Who do you work for." "Blackford," Hakeswell practically screamed his answer. "Now that was much better," Tagon said. "Tell me about your mission." "I've been deactive from Blackford for years," Hakeswell explained. "Then he contacts me, and tells me that John Wilson will be coming to Nimitz. I spent seven years of my life in Romulan prison camp, thanks to Wilson and Blackford. When I heard that I told Blackford I'd do this one more job. I was to take out Wilson, one way or another. Discredit him first and then kill him if I could. Ha, if I could. I had trouble not going and killing him the moment he was on board. But I've been watching him, oh yes I've been watching him." Tagon watched as Hakeswell turned from a scared little man into something much more frightening. He became more agitated and began to giggle, especially at the parts that surrounded Wilson. "Why?" Tagon asked. "Blackford had changed sides. He's left Doenitz and come over to our side. He wants to eliminate all his traces to the past. Including John Wilson and any evidence he may or may not have on Blackford soperations. But my pleasure was in all of the ways I imagined killing him, slowly and with flair. He knows something that Blackford wants... repressed." "What about the incident in engineering?" "I have no idea about that. Sounds like a Doenitz job alright. You know it wasn't me, because I'd have succeeded and we wouldn't be here now. Besides, what idiot would try to destroy a ship he's still on?" Tagon hated to admit, but the man seemed sincere. There was definitely issues therer. And this man Hakeswell, had finally been pushed to his limit. Tagon turned to leave him. "Don't go anywhere until I get back." At that he headed to the office. "Doctor, Mr. Hakeswell will need some medical treatment." (reply Kincaid) Once the doctor was gone he explained the situation to Wilson, who nodded. "I'd like to know what it is that you know," Tagon said. (reply Wilson, Kincaid) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay -SFI- Commander John Wilson -19:40) Tagon's arrival had been sudden however it was defiantly most welcome in the current climate. The situation with Hakeswell was still not rectified and he could no longer figure out what was going to happen. Events had become blurred and no longer in expected sequence. The capture of Hakeswell had gone well however his presence did not bode well at all for the Nimitz or himself. John paused and remained silent as Tagon went to work the obvious hiring point of Tagon was proving itself now. John knew Tagon was a formidable sight, the first meeting between them had proven that point. John now planned on using Tagon's imposing structure to encourage cooperation. As the conversation appeared to be taking it's natural progression John turned to the concerned Doctor. Smiling he gripped the doctors arm and pointed towards the docs office. Not leaving any real room for argument John leads him towards the office. "Nice weather hey KinKaid?" John didn't really think about the fact that the ship lacked weather. It was however a fast diversion tactic. (Reply KinKaid iyw) After a while attempting to distract the doctor, John herd the doctor get called into the suspect. As the doctor began to treat the man John herd Tagon's booming voice. ."I'd like to know what it is that you know," "Not much it would seem, although apparently enough to warrant my elimination," John stated, it was a cryptic response but however all that he had at the moment. "It is clear that we are all intertwined in events here. My transfer to Intel, posting to Nimitz etc has all been part of a grand plan. However I don't see what that is," John stated raising his hand to rub his face. It was a perplexing problem, the issue of his life had never been an easy one and his past apparently was going to come back to haunt him. "Tagon, contact Geneva security get my girls to safety!" John stated. "Possibility if some one is after me the girls is the next on the list," (Reply Tagon) "After we have dealt with that we need to start preps for capturing Mr Blackford, However I do believe there is a larger issue here. If Hakeswell was coming for primary purpose of my elimination why the event in Engineering. Unless it was not down to him. Falthgood," John raised his right eyebrow, he had hit on the linking factor. "Mr Tagon, hunt down Falthgood and talk to the Doctor, find out what he knows. He is ex Intel so watch yourself but I have been warned about him so I want to know whose side he is batting for!" (Reply Tagon) "I shall go discretely go find out from some sources about Mr Hakeswell's true service record," (Reply Tagon) "Oh Tagon I don't have to tell you, please attempt to return some of you in one piece!"John stated grinning and then exiting the sickbay. (Reply Tagon, KinKaid, Any) (Posted By Richard) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid - 1940) The arrival of Hakeswell to Sickbay has brought a sense of high security. A security team was dispatch and posted outside the sickbay doors while Hakeswell was sedated just as a precaution. The environment scenario felt like a penal colony on the outer most sectors by the way the medical personnel were performing their duties as if surveillance cameras were watching their every move and taking names. Kinkaid made it clear to Janet and his medical staff that he would be the only one to be near Hakeswell during the tooth extraction procedure. Safety was his concerned. Janet prepared the necessary medical equipment for her boss to conduct the operation. The operation was quick and painless as least for Kinkaid's well being. Kinkaid was unsure for Hakeswell's once the sedative wears off. The doors to sickbay slid opened. Commander Wilson entered the room along with the strangest being that ever to step foot into Sickbay. Kinkaid stood there petrified not knowing on how to greet the huge mountain-like being. Commander Wilson began the introductions instead. It was hard to comprehend on the Brikkarian way of conservation, but Kinkaid knew enough to get by. Dru Tagon made his way to Hakeswell's biobed. Tagon said, "I see you haven't done much to him, Doctor." Kinkaid took that comment to heart and became red in the face. "How dare you waltz into my Sickbay and say, '.I haven't done much to him' when I risk life and limb to remove a false tooth that contained a very toxic neural serum that if released into the air would have endangered or even kill everyone in this department!" Kinkaid said releasing his frustration. There was no response from Tagon as he continued his observation of Hakeswell trying to awake him. Commander Wilson realized that this natural progressing conversation was getting Kinkaid a bit flustered. Wilson gripped Kinkaid by his arm with a smile and pointed in the direction of Kinkaid's office. Kinkaid resisted, but went with the XO nevertheless. "Nice weather, hey Kinkaid?" Commander Wilson said without thinking. Kinkaid went along with the conversation by calmly saying in a joking fashion, "Other than the dark clouds we have been experiencing lately along with several brief thunderstorms, I say the weather is nice." (Reply, Anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid - 1941) The dull conservation that Commander Wilson was trying to instigate was not working with Kinkaid. He thought the topic about the weather was a bit extreme to begin with anyway. Kinkaid hated the idea of being pushed around in his own Sickbay not even Nurse Janet Sanders gets away with doing that. Kinkaid was trying so hard to listen to the XO, but he could not resist the temptation of glancing over the commander's shoulder into the biobed area of his department. Kinkaid was taking it slow and easy to see what was happening, but Wilson was pacing even so frequent in front of Kinkaid's line of sight. Wilson then stopped his pacing and looked out the transparent glass partition into sickbay. Dru Tagon entered Kinkaid's office and said, "Doctor, Mr. Hakeswell will need some medical treatment." Kinkaid's emergency response senses took over and immediately rushed in to Hakeswell's aid. He activated the biobed scanners. The initial scans showed that Hakeswell had a broken rib bone. Kinkaid moved in for a closer look at the scans. To Kinkaid's astonishment, the reading depicted that the rib bone had shattered into tiny pieces not broken, but shattered. Kinkaid made further scans, which showed no major organs were damaged where the bone had shattered. Kinkaid grabbed a hypospray and sedated Hakeswell to ease his pain. The damage was already done all Kinkaid could do was to stabilize the area with a makeshift brace until a rib bone could be graphed and the healing process could begin. Kinkaid wanted to let Commander Wilson know what the prognosis of Hakeswell was, but there was no one around. ~ Damn it! If it's not one thing, it's something else! ~ Kinkaid thought when he activated the sickbay communication channels. "Kinkaid to Medical Personnel. report to Sickbay immediately we have a job to do! Kinkaid out." Kinkaid closed the comm channels and went to work on Hakeswell's rib. (Reply, Anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. "Possibility if some one is after me the girls is the next on the list." "Of course Commander," Tagon replied. He understood Wilson's concern. "After we have dealt with that we need to start preperations for capturing Mr. Blackford, However I do believe there is a larger issue here. If Hakeswell was coming for primary purpose of my elimination why the event in Engineering. Unless it was not down to him. Falthgood," John raised his right eyebrow, he had hit on the linking factor. "Mr Tagon, hunt down Falthgood and talk to him, find out what he knows. He is ex Intel so watch yourself but I have been warned about him so I want to know whose side he is batting for!" "Yes sir," Tagon said simply. "What about yourself?" Suddenly he was worried about the saftey of his new commander. "I shall go discretely go find out from some sources about Mr Hakeswell's true service record." "Be careful Commander," he said, "I would hate to lose my new job on the first night." "Oh Tagon I don't have to tell you, please attempt to return some of you in one piece!" John stated grinning and then exiting the sickbay. Tagon watched Wilson go. After the door closed he said, "Same to you John." Then he too left sickbay to find a com panel to contact Geneva. Then he would have to find this Falthgood fellow. I have graduated from Starfleet Academy and am on my way to my first assignment. I have been assigned as a councillor on the USS Nimitz, a Sovereign-class starship docked at Starbase Geneva. I am the first of my family to leave the Earth's atmosphere, but my pride is drowned out by my excitement. The journey to Geneva was long and uneventful, but nonetheless inspiring. For once, my books lay unread as I gazed into the infinity of space. I spent the entire voyage by a window. To most of the people around me, space is merely a black abyss, sprinkled with stars. To me, it is a whole new dimension to my understanding of the universe, a source of limitless possibilities. I spent most of the journey gasping in awe, much to the irritation of the passengers around me, to whom travelling through the space is as common as walking between rooms. As impressive as the transport ship was, it didn't hold a candle to Starbase Geneva. The structure was incredible from the outside, almost as large as a moon, and more architecturally incredible than any building or city back on Earth. The Starbase engulfed the transport vessel and the interior was cavernous. Even at the space dock in Earth's orbit, there were not as many ships in one place, docked neatly around the base. Each one was impressive, each one was larger than the next, but nothing compares to the Nimitz. Stardate: 2406.06.20 (Nimitz, Starbase Geneva - Ensign Harrison - 1943) Ensign John Harrison stepped off the shuttle from the transport vessel and into Starbase Geneva. Thousands of other Starfleet members and civilians walked around him, past him, almost through him, as they hurried to wherever they were going. As he walked through the corridor to the centre of the starbase, he gazed in wonder at the different Starships docked around the base. Many different classes, but all large enough to house the population of a large town or, in some cases, a small city. This, he thought, was certainly the case with the Nimitz. The vessel was colossal, intimidating and yet inspiring. The metal hull gleamed with glory, the warp nacelles glimmered in the light of the Starbase. Already, he could point out areas of the ship he could identify, having read an article on Sovereign-class Starships while waiting for the transport vessel to arrive in Earth's space dock. The ship was every bit as incredible as he had imagined. And it was to be his home from now on. Even from this distance, he could see pinpricks of movement past the windows and portholes in the ship; the crew that he would soon meet, soon be living with. Some he would even become friends with, he imagined. As he walked through the Starbase, he passed mess halls and stores, holodecks and gyms. You could probably spend weeks on this base, going about your daily life as if you were in the centre of a city back on Earth. John felt quite thirsty but he was too eager and anxious to board the Nimitz, so he didn't stop. Instead, he walked more briskly, not tearing his eyes away from the impressive Starship. Harrison then realised that he did not know exactly where he was going. After asking a few passing officers, he headed for the transporter room he needed. As he walked through each corridor, he continued to marvel at the Nimitz, trying to imagine what his life will be like in the next couple of days. 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Transporter Room One - Ensign John Harrison - 1945) A transporter room similar to that he'd just left materialised in front of him. The design of the architecture was incredible, announcing how state-of-the-art this ship was. Harrison stepped off the transporter pad and saluted the officer before him, standing to attention. "Ensign John Harrison, reporting for duty, sir." Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - TAC/ASC Ensign(jg) Tom Slytherwald - 1845) Onix entered the bridge and saw Tom. "Ensign reporting for duty. I'm ready." -Tom was smiling, obviously happy. "Good... I have a few things to do. I don't like sending someone in the lion's den but I will ask you to replace me while I go see petty officer Hakeswell in the brig. The guy wanted to kill Wilson and it seem that we cut him before he would act on it. I need to question him about the incident in Engineering. He wasn't the one who done that but he might know something. I ask to the captain that he be transferred... he is too much of a risk for are security." Tom looked at her, he arrived on the ship a day ago, and she gives him a chance to impress her ! ~Very good~ Tom though Tom was silent for some seconds.... ~OK, ok. I musn't blow it!!!~ "Yes, m'am, it will be my pleasure to replace you. Ah... if you, m'am, could tell me your duties, so I can perform them, m'am?" -Tom stopped, he waited Onix to explain him his duties. (Reply from Onix Kateb) Tom just stood there listening what are his next duties and he couln't help himself but notice how she wanted to become Chief of Tactical, and now when he found out his duties, he though maybe sometimes are better to be smaller fish in the sea. ~Wow, I don't know if she even have a time for herself!~ "Well, I should start wright away, m'am!" -Tom smiled - it was the only thing that he could do ~Well, OK, I guess that I'll start with level 4 diagnostics of the weapon's plasma EPS conduits. It's a job for the engineer, but considering he's not available now, I guess the job's on me. It should be easy...~ Tom though as inspecting Tactical console. (Reply from Onix Kateb) "Thank you, m'am!" -said Tom as finishing his first job. (Reply from Onix Kateb, anyone else) (Posted by Ed) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Transporter Room One - Transporter Chief Erickson- 1946) Erickson looked at the man who had just transported over. He seemed quite normal, which was a pleasant change for the Nimitz. Erickson couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with him. Nimitz never got "normal" people. The ensign noticed Erickson and approached him most formally. "Ensign John Harrison, reporting for duty, sir." Erickson smiled at what could only be a recent graduate from the academy. He couldn't believe they were letting them out that young. Looked like this boy should still be wearing a bib. The much senior Erickson nodded. "Nice try Ensign," Erickson said finally, "but I'm a NCO. You don't have to call me sir, son. You're probably looking for Captain Sash. He's the man you need to report to." He looked down at the panel. "Computer, locate Captain Sash." [Captain Sash is in his quarters. Deck 2 section 12.] "There you go son," Erickson said looking at the new man. "If you get lost along the way just touch a comm pannel and the computer will give you directions." (reply Harrison) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain Sash's Quarters - Ensign John Harrison- 1952) Harrison walked in nervously and stood to attention in front of the Captain's desk. He'd been on the ship a mere three seconds before he'd mucked up. Fortunately, the transporter chief had been quite light hearted about it. The journey to the Captain's quarters had been surprisingly easy, which Harrison had found comforting. Even in a ship this size, he hadn't got lost. Yet. He stood smartly to attention and saluted his Commanding Officer, a routine which he was now getting used to. "Ensign John Harrison reporting for duty, sir." ~Please let this be the captain!~ he thought with an internal smile. (reply Sash) (posted by James Batchelor) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Holodeck 2 - TAC/SC Ensign Kateb & SFI/XO Comdr. Wilson - 2300) Onyx was walking in the hall toward holodeck 2, she literally spent an hour trying things out, until she made up her mind that it wasn't a date. She opted for a pair of black leather pants, and a shirt with various pattern of green shades, and very comfortable and fresh. She look at herself through the reflection of the wall panel, she look good but not extraordinary, she would even say normal. She arrive in front of the door. John looked around the holodeck, in its inactive state the walls were plain. Pausing for a moment John pursed his lips and clasped his hands together. "Computer, work with me here," John paused and tutted before the computer retorted. "Earth, France, Paris, 20th century," As the words had exited his mouth the holodeck began to fill with colour. Smiling he looked around. The sun beat down on his face and John smiled a massive smile as he did he looked around at the holographic characters. As he looked at the bottle of wine he held in his hand he nodded to the waiter. As the frenchman ran over with the cooler John placed the wine in, the ice beat against the side of the bottle. Grinning to himself he herd the doors activate. Spinning on his heel he looked at Onyx coming in. "Why hello, prompt as always," "Never could get fashionably late... It looks beautiful... Paris right?" She smile a little and move forward passing by him. She did see the wine but didn't bent over to look at the bottle. John smiled and then as he began to move towards the table John pushed his hand close to his mouth and breathed just to ensure that his breath did not smell. He had already had a meal with the CO so thankfully he was out of dress uniform. "You look stunning," John stated smiling pulling out the chair and placing it behind her. Onyx gave him a look and sat on the chair he presented to her. "Euh... Thanks." John smiled, she was understandably uncomfortable. Having a command officer suddenly spring a private drink on you was no doubt a shock to the system. "So did you manage to sort out all the issues with Mr Hakeswell," John stated smiling attempting to place her on familiar ground. "There is enough on his computer file in his room to make him a risk to the ship, and even more so considering that he had plan to kill you and eventually Blackford. He wasn't the one of the sabotage of engineering but I'm not sure he knows who... at least he didn't write anything about it in his journal. I suggested to Captain Sash to have him transferred, for the security of the Nimitz." Onyx relaxed a little, she look around and observed how beautiful the view was. "Ahh transferring him would be a bad idea, however i doubt any other course would be available. he is a clear and present danger, plus he was going to kill me. The worse type of people in this world are traitors, more so those who get nothing for their betrayal. Judas managed to at least get 20 Pieces," John stated shaking his head. "Don't ask, so what does Miss Kateb do in her spare time?" Onyx gave him a wonder look. ~Judas! Who is that?~ Then Wilson went to another subject... her. "What do I do in my spare time? I usually go in holodecks... I have a few programs collected here." "What type of programs?" "Fighting programs, hiking programs forest type, swimming once and a while... the beach on Acamara, south continent, my father brought me there, it was before he passed away. Do we eat here? I'm a bit hungry." "We can eat if you want i didn't exactly eat that much at Sash's meal," John stated, shuddering. "I was as welcome as tribbles!" "Tribble... I remember that from the Academy... those furry ball creature and eat and reproduce at will, actually, just by looking at one." She smiled. "Funny, I fancy a salmon fillet, with a bed of rice, mushroom, green beans, and white sauce. With this white wine it will be perfect." John paused for a moment, it was impressive for most people to know what order straight off. John smiled and then looked at the menu, you could tell a lot about a person by what they ate John was no exception. "Steak," He stated clearly to the waiter. "How would you like that sir?" "Bloody as hell," John stated smiling at the waiter. "So do you miss flying?" "I usually do that here, on the holodeck... World War II planes... passing by a fighter, to a galaxy class Starship. I prefer a glider." "A glider never liked the idea of not being in control of events. However with current events its pretty clear I'm not in control," "In a glider it you with nature, you need to make one to go far... It's not easy. No one is in control here." Onyx look at her dish that the waiter put in front of her. He open the bottle and serve Wilson first... to have the first taste and approve of it. As the wine slid down his throat John smiled and looked at the glass, pausing for a moment. Memories kicked in or at least they seemed to be memories. Poision in a glass, laying on the floor struggling for life. Where would he be getting these ideas from. Letting his distaste show the holographic waiters expression changed to that of disgust. "You bring the wine then you complain.." "Computer delete character!" John commanded before the waiter could continue. "What was that about?" She took the glass and took a sip. It was a good wine, a bit fruity and nicely chilled. "It's an excellent wine!" Onyx decided to attack her salmon and took a bite. "Nothing something just didn't seem right," As he finished his words he saw Blackford skulking in the back ground of the holodeck. Ignoring him for the moment John looked into Onyx's eyes. "Onyx, Hakeswell was working alone. We are certain that Blackford is not involved," John stated keeping his eyes locked on her. Something was off, she knew it but what to do what something else. "Hakeswell acted on revenge... I know that Blackford isn't involve." She continued to eat a little more. "I know it is as simple as revenge, however there were 4 survivors. Me, Hakeswell, Parak and a fourth that was never known," "So far, I didn't find anything in his communications... Unless he used a special frequency, as far as I can tell, he was alone." She took a sip and kept going, like nothing but knew she was watch, it was visible in Wilson's eyes. John smiled she had took the hint brilliantly, she knew as did he that Blackford would be listening. If they played dumb he would play right into their hands. "I will have some information very soon about your adoptive father. I have put out a lot of contacts soon i hope to have something back," "I hope so, because if those people did this they can do a lot more and change the status of the Klingon empire." She continued to eat and gave a smile to Wilson. "I will be glad when i stop being the centre of attention and some one else can take the centre. Its tiring, everyone always wants to kill me the debate is starting should i really change my aftershave," John stated jokingly. "That I wouldn't know... has to be the center of attention... I don't like to be that. I spent 6 month on a klingon warship... I was the center of attention, even more so after I put 3 klingons in sickbay." "I can imagine you are not a one to be put down easily, my track record with Klingons is not exactly exemplary. So why change to starfleet did the Klingon way of life not fit well?" "I had the choice... I could have been lieutenant at Tactical, it would have been the first non-klingon to have that post. But, something was missing, I can't seem to put my finger on it. Maybe the rigidity they have, they are succeeding once and a while to fuse Federation ideology and Klingon philosophy, but it's going to be a long and hard road. Maybe you can tell me why?" She said that has a joke." "Hum I'm not one to fit in i always stick out my greatest asset it might be said," John stated. "And your weakness in others. The first fight I had... I landed on my butt, and after never again. They got surprised and even more. But has much as it was fun, something was missing and I knew I had to leave, it was sure. I'm half Acamarian, we have a long memory, and human, that is the part for me to discover but I know it's there. When you said I have beautiful eyes, I don't see it. I have eye... period." "Humans as a whole look on the world in much more broader terms, also it might be said as a rose tinted view. In essence even the smallest thing can be romantic and beautiful," "I know what beautiful is... this view. Romantic... I don't know." She took her drink and got up walking toward the view. John sat in his seat not moving pondering what was being said, if this was any other occasion he might have been able to fool himself into believing that everything was alright. However the events of the day and the possible events that were to come clouded the sunny skies. Standing up he placed his seat behind the table. "This is brilliant but in the back of my mind i know this setting is not real, perception is a important point and something that needs to be learnt. All might seem well but something always happens to cloud it. In the end we all need to appreciate what is here and now, tomorrow it might be gone," "It doesn't change much of anything then." She turn to look at him. "I know, so we must live for the day and with that in mind we have a busy day tomorrow Chief. So i must bid you a due," "Yes... it will be busy... Escorting me to my quarters?" Somehow she knew that he might need a way out of this place and yet he could refuse, there was no problem or bad manner about it. She put down her glass of wine on the table. "But of course Onyx," John stated gesturing a exit for the holodeck. (Reply from none & anyone) (Posted by Laurence & Richard) Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Quarters of Lt Vadhagh - Lt(jg) Falthgood - 2345) "Alright buck-wheat, stand at ease, your sins have been erased." Zach muttered as he leaned back in the chair. "Completely erased." Falthgood stared at the man, still chained to the chair, with a small dribble of blood coming from every orifice in his body. The man had tried to resist, Zach had squirted all but 40CC's of the anti-dote within the first fifteen minutes. After that, it had only been a matter of waiting for both agents to work and break the mans spirit. After that, well, the man hadn't lasted long. Zach had learned what he needed though, now he just needed it to happen. He took a very deep breath and considered who he should contact. There were two other agents on this ship, this one had nominally been in charge. They were watching for specific commands on the comm system, so he couldn't call security right off. He brought his hand up and fiddled with his moustache as he looked at the lifeless body of what had been an agent. The man knew very little about Doenitz's plans, he hadn't been trained to be an SFI style operative. But, Zach knew well, they could be highly effective when they needed to be. After several minutes he leaned forward, and gently closed the mans eyes. Zach hadn't gotten around to asking if he had liked what he was doing, in the end he hadn't wanted to know. Zach had already killed him, having his entire soul laid open for inspection hadn't been necessary. He reached up slowly and tapped his badge, "Falthgood to Lee, hey good buddy... Come play hide and seek, I've got that new technology working." He cut the channel quick, and he had certainly made certain not to mention his location. With any luck such a short bit of contact wouldn't be noticed. The Reverse Engineer leaned back again, and continued twirling his moustache between his fingers. Vadhagh, his eyes closed and blood still slowly leaking from eyes, mouth, nose and ears; remained silent in the chair. "I already knew I was a murderer," Zach said to himself as he committed the face to memory, "But at least this time, its for a good cause." He shuddered slightly at his memories, his own lack of morals. It hadn't always been so, and he was growing them back slowly. It was had probably been a good thing that his wife had died while he was still a peon on Doenitz's programs. She would have hated the man he had become with his swift rise through the ranks. He wondered briefly if she would hate him for this too, even though it had been the only way that he could retrieve the essential information needed to track down the other would-be killers of the Nimitz and her crew. He hoped not, he truly hoped not, but he had a deep fear that she would. He had lived for so many years as the typical absent-minded scientist, both to confirm why he would be so old and still a mere Lieutenant, and to force the memories of the first half of his life out of his mind. He hadn't had to do this act in person often, but enough to haunt his nightmares. And he had ordered it so many times that he had lost count. ~All for the Federation.~ he thought with disdain. After several minutes of reflection, the chime to the quarters beeped. Zach turned his head, "enter." The doors parted, revealing the seven foot figure of the Chief Marine on the ship. He was wary, and he had his hand on a sidearm when he walked in. "You rang?" he finally said as he stepped inside, "Something wrong? Your message was short and..." The Marine cut off when he got a look at the person Zach was sitting across from. The Marines eyes shifted back and forth, and within three seconds he had pulled out his side-arm, though he aimed it loosely at the ground. "Alright, what's going on?" Falthgood grinned, his face a perfect skeletal impression of the Grim Reaper. "Most of it's a long story, but lets just say this was the wench that sabotaged our engines and had other equally destructive plans. The Captain knows that I was searching, and gave me the go to do what I needed to do in order to learn if there were more. And, there are." He didn't move a muscle, letting Lee remain calm as he talked. "Anyway, the comms are being watched, and so am I. Therefore, logically, I can't contact either the Captain or Security. You and me, we've been seen together off hours, if I called you it wouldn't be suspicious. You have to Contact the Captain, and Security. Just to be safe, ask to see the Captain first and get in contact with Security on the quiet." The Marine took another look at the body, the blood was starting to congeal on the face. He looked back to Zach and slowly holstered the side-arm. "We're gonna have to talk about this later," he finally said before tapping his badge. "Lee to Captain Sash, got a few minutes? I've got a few important Marine things to talk to you about." (reply: Sash) "On my way." he said a moment later before closing the channel. Zach, while listening, had stood and picked up his materials. He closed them all gently into the pack and slipped them into his uniform, no doubt the Captain, Security and Medical would want them later. He took a breath and shook his head, it was all such a waste. Lee interrupted his thoughts, "Whatever you are, don't you think this was a bit overboard?" Zach pulled out his trade-mark shades from a pocket in his uniform. "The Nimitz will be completely safe from internal sabotage within the next twenty minutes, whereas we had been living under the shadow before. We do what we can, no more and no less, those are the basics that make up duty and responsibility. And, Ill tell you what's more." he said as he paused to look at the body. "When you dance with the devil..." he continued as he slowly slipped on his shades and looked back up at Lee. "...you'd best know how to tango. Cause the devil don't change. You do."
